Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

There are a number of expenses that are not covered by medical plans, which is where Flexible Spending Accounts can come in handy. A portion of the employee’s paycheck is set aside and put into an FSA before paying federal income taxes, Social Security taxes and most state taxes. It can be a great way for them to save money!

Here are some of the eligible expenses that can be paid for with an FSA:

  • Health plan co-pays
  • Dental work and orthodontia
  • Eye exams and eyeglasses
  • Contact lenses and saline solution
  • Doctor’s Office visits
  • Hearing aids
  • Laboratory fees
  • Prescriptions
